OUR ROLE

The Military Justice System (MJS) now, Military Discipline Law (MDL) is a process designed to facilitate any legal situation within any military jurisdiction. As there has been updates to the system and processes, the Land Warfare Centre (LWC, Australian Army, Canungra) and VMP eLearning collaborated to upgrade the MJS training program into a micro-credentialed course model that facilitated learning capabilities. It required an open access design and had to be compatible with the pre-existing Defence Learning Management System (ADELE). The result also had to be rank agnostic, wherein learners could be directed to complete the training no matter their rank within Defence. Although this was a direct collaboration with the Army, this was an opportunity to update the MJS training for all Defence personnel, working with the Military Legal Training Centre to ensure that all information and material was correct and up to date.
The structure and micro-credentials within the course were identified and aligned with the various roles within the Military Justice System: MJS Overview/ Infringement Officer/Discipline Officer/Senior Discipline Officer/Prosecuting/Defending Officer/Clerk of the Court/Summary Authority.

OUTCOME

VMP eLearning managed to completely upgrade the Defence MJS/MDL training, building scores of individual micro credential modules across all 6 core subject areas. This was achieved through close partnership and collaboration between VMP eLearning, LWC, and RMC. As VMP eLearning continues to build upon our defence capabilities and partnerships, it was another great opportunity to collaborate with the instructors and project officers at LWC and utilise our honed understanding of Defence to implement new learning techniques.
